Beaverbrook Art Gallery works on tour: Sargent in Italy

Did you know that one of our works by John Singer Sargent is currently on display in Florence?

Beaverbrook Art Gallery staff member Greg Charlton, with Sargent's Pressing the Grapes: Florentine Wine Cellar in Florence

Here’s a photo of Greg Charlton, the Gallery staff member who recently escorted the painting to Florence, with Sargent’s Pressing the Grapes: Florentine Wine Cellar (oil on canvas), loaned to Florence’s Palazzo Strozzi for their show Americans in Florence: Sargent and the American Impressionists.

The Palazzo Strozzi’s website has an extensive write-up on the show: http://www.palazzostrozzi.org/SezioneAmericani.jsp?idSezione=1453
