Glorious Light – Bring it into your house! / La lumiere divine – chez vous!

Have you ever wanted to own something that hung on the Gallery’s wall?

Now, here is your chance!

When John Leroux’s Glorious Light exhibition photographs come down, they could go right up on your wall! We will be selling most of the prints on a first-come, first served basis through our Gallery Shop. Prints range in price from $5 to $75 plus tax, and your purchase, as always, helps support the Gallery’s many programs and services. The price list and list of remaining prints will be on-hand at the Gift Shop.

The prints will not be available before early- to mid-January, when the exhibition will be taken down, but come by today and put your name and money down on your favourite image, as these could go quite quickly!

Please call our Front Desk / Gallery Shop at (506) 458-2028, or come by today!

(Please note that there is only one of each print available – unless it’s already been purchased. Member and/or other discounts do not apply to these prints.)

The lyrical in lieu of the literal

For this year’s WoTW [Writing on the Wall], Allan Cooper wrote about Rodin’s sculpture of Balzac. He read these words about Balzac’s eyes while the listeners could peer right into them: “I’ve seen this look in the eyes / of the very old, in the eyes of a dying sparrow. / Do the eyes listen? If so, what do they / hear? Every face is the world’s face, / whether it opens in joy or darkens in grief.”

You can’t read the poem and then not fasten on the eyes of the sculpture, wondering: What do they signify? Colours speak, eyes listen.

It’s time for our annual holiday sale! / Prix spéciaux pour les Fêtes!

It’s time for our annual holiday sale!

From Dec. 2-11th, we’ll be discounting almost everything* in our Gallery shop by at least 20%! That includes everything from Gallery swag to fine craft jewelry, and that’s in addition to your member discount!

Some stock will be marked down more than that (up to 50% in some cases), but we won’t tell you what – you’ll just have to come in and see for yourself…

In addition, from Dec. 6-9th, we’ll be running special one-day-only deals, which will be posted in our shop, and advertised on our Twitter, Facebook, and blog only! **

For the duration of the sale, we will also be discounting all admissions to the Gallery by 20%! It’s a perfect opportunity to do some shopping, and to stop in and enjoy the wonderful exhibitions we have on view.

With our thanks for supporting your Beaverbrook Art Gallery, and helping us do what we do,

–          The staff at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery

The necessary fine print:

  • * Includes all in stock merchandise located in the shop itself, except fine art lithographs and prints priced $50 and up, the High Museum’s Dalí book, and the New Brunswick Craft Council showcase material.
  • We’re putting what we can in the shop, but we’ve got limited space and may not be able to replenish everything at every turn. So, if there is anything specific you are looking for, just ask at the Front Desk – we’ll do what we can to find it right away, and if we can’t, please leave us your name and contact info. We’ll look into it and contact you with an answer, and if we do currently have it in stock and we can locate it in time, you will still get the sale price after the fact.
  • The sale does not apply to memberships, facility rentals and liquor purchases, special events tickets, educational programs, or anything else that is not part of the shop inventory, even if it is sold from the Front Desk, unless specified otherwise. Sale prices apply only to in-person purchases or telephone orders that will be picked up, not to any other telephone, fax, mail, email, or online orders.
  • ** These one-day deals will replace (not supplement) the general sale; in some cases, these will supplement member discounts, and in others, will replace them – we’ll post all that online with the deal.
